Committees

Rules and Governance Committee

Chair: Toby Malara

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and maintain bylaws and committee assignments.
  • Record motions, votes, and maintain official minutes.
  • Serve as Secretary and Parliamentarian for all Board meetings.

Membership Committee

Chair: Joe Riley; Vice-Chair: Brad Denning

Responsibilities:

  • Determine eligibility for event invitations and establish membership criteria.
  • Recommend membership fees, if any.
  • Review and recommend revocation of membership or invitations.

Brand Committee

Chair: Michael Pappas

Responsibilities:

  • Design the official logo and brand identity for the Pappas Invitational.
  • Manage and protect the use of the official Pappas Invitational logo and brand identity.
  • Design and produce official event apparel and other Pappas Invitational merchandise.
  • Launch and manage websites and any social media accounts for the Pappas Invitational.

Food and Beverage Committee

Chair: Michael Pappas

Responsibilities:

  • Select venues for all meals and post-round gatherings.
  • Coordinate evening outings and dining arrangements.

Gaming and Entertainment Committee

Chair: Brad Denning

Responsibilities:

  • Determine pairings, games, handicaps, and on-course entertainment.
  • Oversee monetary and non-monetary wagers and side bets.
  • Manage music and other in-play experiences.

Media Committee

Chair: Graig Suvannavejh

Responsibilities:

  • Manage event photography and entertainment.
  • Ensure event content is promoted and shared across relevant social channels and Hoya message threads.
  • Explore and secure domestic and international corporate sponsorship opportunities.

Social Chair Committee

Chair: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate social events and non-golf entertainment.
  • Collaborate with the Gaming and Entertainment Committee on social programming.

Awards Committee

Chair: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Nominate annual award candidates.
  • Propose new awards and recognitions for Board approval.

Transportation Committee

Chair: Graig Suvannavejh

Responsibilities:

  • Confirm all members have appropriate transportation to the event.
  • Arrange for proper transportation during the event, including working with sponsors for courtesy cars throughout the event.
  • Double check all Waze and/or Google Map entries from Commissioner Pappas.
  • NOTE: The Chair will play no role in the rental of any cars for the event.

   





 The first member board meetings were held over three nights in the WXYZ Lounge  at the Aloft Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland
